How to Kill Pests with an Ozone Generator

You should never have to worry about pests in your home. Seeing one can be frightening for anyone, especially if it runs near you. Some insects are beneficial to be in your home. For example, spiders eat annoying bugs like mosquitos, house flies, and even cockroaches.

However, the latter bugs can be agitating, so you’ll want to get rid of them whenever you can. As said on Damage Control 911, you can get rid of these nasty pests with an ozone generator. It must be used with caution, though. Ozone is dangerous to all living things and not just bugs. That means we, as humans, can be negatively affected as well.

As such, you should never use an ozone generator in a place with people or pets. It can cause damage to our lungs and even kill birds. As such, you should seal the room and leave it whenever treating for anything with an ozone generator.

There are ozone generators with timers, so you don’t have to enter the room to turn it off again. Luckily for us, ozone eventually breaks down into regular, breathable oxygen again after about two hours of settling. The bugs may come back after the first time or two, but after a week of using it for a few hours a day, the bugs will be killed or leave for good.
